im heading on holiday in july, after virtually no training in the last few years im hoping to loose some weight and increase my fitness levels. also where I live im in the country so its nice to take in nature from a saddle for a change instead of listening to some boring radio station in the car, I also like the sense of achievement i get when I return from a ride.

My main goal is to lose weight. I've had the bike 2 months now a lost about 6 kg but there's still a long way to go.

I'm in too.  I am recovering from a snapped Achilles in January.  Cycled lots last year and want to do the same this year but first I have to get myself up to a reasonable level of endurance so I can join local enthusiasts on ride outs.  So far I have clocked about 60 miles on a turbo trainer at a gentle pace to strengthen my injured leg and have done one road ride.  Lost lots of my power from last year but that will return.  Weight-wise there is plenty of room for power to weight improvement(!) but that will come when I am able to get the miles in.  Softly softy for now....

I have noticed since starting cycling I feel fitter and healthier. Stairs  and walking hills no problems. Still haven't shook a lot of weight. Can be quite off putting. Just remember the peace and quiet and lack of stress when on the bike
