Did you take part in the 2014 Helly Hansen Killarney Adventure Race?

2 of the Bugs did, they wrote about the experience here, and here are the pics they took during the race - feel free to add yours!

What do you think? Can you think of a more brutiful landscape to race through?

Making our way up the first (STEEP) climb of the day, and the view from halfway up - lots of loose rocks and muddy puddles to watch out for on the exposed slope

Back down the hill to the first transition to bike and a quick peanut energy bar

Stopped to take a photo of the first bike leg in this stunning valley, only to stop again 100m to get another beautiful shot

Up out of the valley and onto a freshly surfaced descent, thankfully in the other direction to the looming rain-clouds pictured

View from the top of an epic climb, 17km winding descent through the unbelievably beautiful Killarney National Park - it felt like such a privilege to be able to ride here

Fast forward through the kayak, and second run and ride legs and we can all relax in the Helly Hansen Chill-out area - luckily the sun was more than happy to join us

Thank you to Helly Hansen for sponsoring and nurturing the amazing Killarney Adventure Race with its organiser Elite Event Management. Thank you also for Tourism Ireland for flying us out with Aer Lingus, setting us up in the lovely Gleneagle Apartments in Killarney and introducing us to the Wild Atlantic Way. We're sure we're not the only ones who enjoyed the race so thoroughly!

Hi Leah,
I've heard such good things about The Ring of Kerry, I'd love to ride it one day :) Ireland was unexpectedly rugged for me, really ancient and harsh I always pictured it as rolling green meadows, so it's fair to say the race has inspired me to visit your lovely country again sometime :) You should share pictures from your rides with the other bugs too - so great to see where everyone else gets to ride!
Cheers, Cat
