This winter has been pretty mild but I am finding that when Iride my hardtail on natural xc routes the mud is unbearable and it has left me riding on mainly maintained trails.
I tried fitting a mudhugger to the front wheel but found that it kept getting clogged up and stopping the wheel from freely rotating. I should sy I ride a Surly Instigator 2.0 (26+) so the clearance isn't great. I am looking for a decent mountainbike mudguard that wont cost the earth. I can see a few here http://twowheelsbetter.cc/best-of/mountain-bike-mudguards-eight-of-the-best-3/ but not sure any of them are right for my unusual bike.
Does anyone have any advice as I'd like to be able to ride from my front door again rather than having to stick the bike in the car and drive to a trail centre.
