10 things other cyclists don't want you to know

Cyclists can be a proud and stubborn bunch, and there are a few things we hold tight to our chest, not daring to admit.

1) They're just as rubbish at fixing punctures as you are

2) If its a quiet night and no one's around we'll probably jump a red light

3) Even the strongest of cyclist have shed a tear when their bike's been stolen

4) We've all got off mid hill and walked to the top at some stage

5) We actually enjoy not wearing underwear in public

6) We would never admit it but sometimes we actually prefer your bike to our own

7) That "quick 50 miler" we did at the weekend, wasn't quick and definitely wasn't easy

8) Club rides seem serious but to be honest it's all about the coffee and cake

9) If we spot you within 50m ahead of us.....we'll then be racing you

10) Sometimes we really do have all the gear and no idea

No 5: I just wear cycling shorts because that is how its done.

No 6: Of course, the grass is always greener on the otherside, but you can never have too many or the best bike.

No 7: Yes, they are always hard!

No 8: Well, the coffee and cake are well worth the effort.

No 9: No, I go at my own pace and always try to set a P.B. If I pass you that is incidental.
